Background
In the summer of 2009, prior to the demolition of the 1938 Gamaliel Bradford Senior High School in the Town of Wellesley (the 1938 High School), the Town’s Permanent Building Committee and School Building Committee (the SBC), the Massachusetts School Building Authority, and the Massachusetts Historical Commission, entered into a Memorandum of Agreement (the Agreement), whereby the SBC agreed to document the 1938 High School by organizing certain photographs, architectural drawings, original building committee minutes, and other historical documentation of the school. The Wellesley Historical Commission assented to the Agreement.
The SBC prepared and organized the required items and placed one set in the Massachusetts State Archives and sent one copy to the Historical Commission in the summer of 2014. The Historical Commission is pleased to present our digital archive of this set of documents, available free of charge to view on our website. We are continually uploading more images to our website in the hopes of having the bulk of the archive available for all to view.
